Rose City Hideaway is a standalone guest house tucked into a historic residential pocket of the Overlook neighborhood — wrapped by a private park, yet just 2.5 miles north of downtown.
Inside, high vaulted ceilings and soft natural light make the single bedroom and open living room feel airy and restful. A queen bed plus a living-room sofa bed sleep up to four, and the whole guest house is yours — no shared spaces, no hosts underfoot.
Step outside and the property really opens up: a swim spa, a gas fire pit, a full outdoor kitchen, and a moss-garden pathway that makes the backyard feel like a small retreat of its own.

As someone who is chronically freezing, the swim spa alone makes this space worth it! Of course, the clean, comfy, cute atmosphere and great location didn’t hurt. Super responsive and kind host as well!
Spotless, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully equipped — it felt both comfortable and elevated. The outdoor kitchen, swim spa, and gym were all easily accessible and added such a fun, relaxing element to the trip.
We spent a whole day on Mississippi St based on the host’s recommended breweries, restaurants, and jazz bar — our favorite day in Portland. The bed was so comfy and the hot tub was an AMAZING perk!
